Upside is a free cashback app that helps you save money on everyday purchases like gas, groceries, and restaurants. Instead of earning points like some apps, Upside gives you real cash back that can be withdrawn directly to your bank, PayPal, or gift cards.

It’s especially popular for gas savings since you can open the app, claim an offer at a station near you, pay normally with your card, and then Upside automatically tracks your purchase and credits your account.

How Upside Works in Practice

Download the app: (free on iOS or Android).

Claim an offer: at a nearby store or gas station.
Pay with your linked card: once you link it and confirm.
Get cash back: usually within 24–48 hours, but can vary based on bank transfers or gift cards.

My Real Results with Upside

So far, I’ve earned $27.91 using Upside. Most of that came from:

Final Verdict

Upside is one of the easiest cashback apps I’ve tried. It doesn’t replace Ibotta or Fetch, but it stacks nicely with them, especially for gas savings.

If you drive regularly or shop at supported stores, it’s a no-brainer to download. The only issue I have is that I wish it offered more stores in my area (no Walmart or Sheetz).
